The Buffalo News has a three-part series on Scientology. Today's story is about a local family that got sucked into the cult, but got out. It's disgusting how this organization brainwashes people. And when you consider how many Hollywood celebs (John Travolta) are Scientologists, you have to feel sorry for them that their lives are such that they have to turn to a cult. But Scientology is so late 1990's. We all know the cult du jour for celebrities, like Madonna, is Kabbalah.

Ron Hubbard, the mediocre at best sci-fi author, who created ''Scientology'' is quoted as saying during his time that ''The best way to make a lot of money is to create a religion'' Goes to show where his values stood. And considering he lied about his Naval career, and educational background it is rather pathetic that people get caught up in it. - Kevin H.
Go L.Ron! You just have to love the Commodore. This man had pinache. Who else can start a "religion" that gets idiots to pay to have themselves taken out to sea on a yacht to perform physical labor, and then get thrown over-board or imprisoned in the chain-locker, sitting in bilge water. What a guy, that Hubbard! Who cares if his sci-fi sucked?
