Despicable. Seriously.

I can't believe this so-called man runs our country. What a disgrace.

And he wonders why people consider his presidency a failure.

Preppy Girl - Sen. Dick Durbin agrees with you:

"When it comes to the law, there should not be two sets of rules - one for President Bush and Vice President Cheney and another for the rest of America. Even Paris Hilton had to go to jail. No one in this administration should be above the law." - Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill.

A President commuting or pardoning a crony or associate is not surprising. All Presidents do it to some degree or another. (Clinton did it to Mark Rich.)What is surprising is the way that Bush did it. Usually, they wait until the offender has started to serve his/her sentence, or all appeals have been exhausted, or both. Bush didn't do that, which sets a bad precedent no matter what.

Libby didn't deserve it anyway. He lied under oath, and should have served the time the judge sentenced him to if for no other reason than that.
