Antoinetta Gets a Tune-Up

When I was in Rochester earlier this month, I dropped off my violin to Signorelli's for some maintenance. The bridge needed an adjustment, the bows re-haired, and I needed a new set of strings. My mom picked "her" up this Friday and brought "her" to Buffalo yesterday, where I retrieved "her" at a graduation party.

And yes, I named my violin. I figured, some people name their cars, so I was going to name my violin. I decided that since the instrument has curves and wears a G-string, it had to be a girl, so Antoinetta it was named.

Nice F-holes...

It's gorgeous. I had a kinda cheap one that I sold at a garage sale a few years ago with the intent of using the money toward a new one. I never bought one. As luck would have it, no one is knocking down my door looking for a mediocre violinist. :)

Preppy Girl - it sticks in my mind that you have a sibling who might have a violin you could borrow.

How long had you played?

I played about 9 or 10 years, through school. I've always had one around (until recently). I like to play when I'm stressed sometimes. I'm not great or advanced or anything but I can play a bit. Gary has one? Hmmmm...
