I've shared my opinion about the Pill and other forms of birth control back in April.
Women? How many of you have a regular cycle without any assistance of medicine or operations? Just wondering.
I got sick of irregularity. It's one thing if you never have your period. Which wasn't so bad as a teenager and then in some later years. It's another thing if it never goes away. Which is no fun when you're married and want to spend time with your husband.
With that in mind, I grit my teeth this afternoon and placed the call to my doctor to ask for a prescription. We talked briefly on the phone to clarify some points before she placed the order to my pharmacy of choice.
The next three months should be fun as my body gets used to new hormones. Apologies in advance for any weird hormonal outbursts.

Way to go! I've been back on The Pill for almost 4 years now, and after the initial adjustment period, my moods evened out. It's a lot better than when I wasn't on it at all.
I've been off the pill for more than half a decade. I am regular within 3 days. I think that's pretty good. :)
I can't begin to imagine what this experience is like. My mood swings are hard enough without chemical imbalances. All I can say is, good luck and much respect to what the ladies go through.
I was on it back in my youth, but no more. The more I read, the more it scares the bejeezus out of me. My doctor, whom I trust implicitly, told me not to take anything you don't absolutely need to (wouldn't it be funny if we found out we had the same doctor?) Anyhoo, I don't plan to have any more kids, and my periods are as irregular as all get out, but I'm not going there. Don't hormones in general just suck the big one? Good times.

Advice to Matt: Remove any and all sharp instruments or other things that can be used as such. Other than that, son, you're on your own.... ;-)
Well, Muze and I were starting to sound like a couple of kids in the backseat of a car on a long trip. Is it done yet?

My mother's cycle was so regular, you could set your watch to it. Me, on the other hand... well... I've learned to recognize my body's symptoms of impending doom. I can predict within 24 hours of when it will start, but only if I'm paying attention.
I can only dream of a 28 day cycle and 4-5 days of oogyness. :P A pox on those women who live it!
I've never knows a girl/woman/friend/girlfriend/wife/family member/etc. to have a regular cycle. Why is irregular so regular?
Makkaio...
Without getting into extreme, nerdy, biological detail, there are far too many factors at play. A woman's cycle is affected by weight, stress, exercise level, medications she may be taking, diet, health, among many others.
That's why irregular is so "regular."
